Not Fooled

Listen, airline customer service people. I expect my call to be routed to India. Even if the person on the end of the line speaks flawless English, I am not convinced he or she is in the United States. I only hope to get decent service. However, when the guy who answers has an accent that is like unto Apu in The Simpsons (only more unintelligible), I will not, for one minute, believe that his name is "Steve Johnson."

I KNOW.
I had that experience with some customer service line and the guy said his name was John. I was like, "No. No its not."

when I was in phone sales i used to do accents when i got bored. people will answer your questions much more readily if you have a fake southern accent, i have found. or maybe it was that i was marginally more interested in what i was doing for the duration of those calls. whatever.

First Nations helped me out with some hi-tech info (well, hi-tech to me!) and she says she got it from you. So, thanks a lot. If you like ginger cake, there's some at my place!

Hey, DN, you okay out there?

Ok, you're not fooled. So, where are ya?

No one has heard hide nor hair from you and inquiring minds want to know.

Seriously, other than the status update about plotting to off your prof from last Thursday over on facebook, there's been no sight of hide nor hair of you....... and our scrabulous game now has dusty cobwebs all over it, too!

Hoping all's well! xoxo

Okay, wow, didn't realize I was repeating the comment above me verbatim on the hide nor hair thing.

Whew, my brain must really be fried. Sorry I got all plagarizy on ya there, corn dog! I blame it on my (admittedly low grade) fever...

...and well done with my spelling of my made-up word, plagiarizy.

I seriously need to take advantage of that "preview" button instead of just hitting "publish your comment" all willy-nilly and *then* reading what I wrote. Yeesh to the tenth power.

Hey, it does happen. Okay, Sunil may have been more believable. Or Priyanka, had it been a woman. But I do know folks from India with names like David, Steve, Richie, etc. We can blame the British Imperialists, of course, in the same way that we can blame the Beckhams for people calling their progeny after place names.
